Danielle grew up in tiny farming town in southern Minnesota called Sleepy Eye where she spent her early years learning gardening, foraging, cooking and conservation from her father. Life centered around a love for cooking and the deep connections created through a table full of food, wine, and friends.
Danielle’s passion to create first led to a degree and career in Interior Design. Along the way she relocated to Hood River, Oregon with her husband and two dogs. Here she spent much of her free time visiting the picturesque local farms and wineries. These experiences inspired her to take a new, yet familiar path and center her career on creating and sharing moments of deep connection inspired by food, wine and place.
A move to Seattle started a five year journey to complete advanced wine certifications through the Court of Master Sommeliers and Wine & Spirits Education Trust and also began surrounding herself with talented food and wine artisans throughout the Pacific Northwest. In 2015 she made the leap and started her first company, Table Culture, where she crafted memorable experiences for corporate clients and individuals celebrating important life events. At the same time, she met Portland-based cookbook author and photographer Eva Kosmas Flores and the two began a pop-up dinner series called Secret Supper, unique events gathering new friends from around the world.
Secret Supper's incredible growth led her to close Table Culture and moved to Portland, Oregon in 2017. She now focuses exclusively on Secret Supper though their signature dinner series, private events and wine education workshops. Today she can found exploring with her husband and pups or tucked away in a Portland coffee shop planning something creative while she attempts to taste and celebrate everything that's good.
